Which Wineries will we visit?
Established in 1975, Fall Creek Vineyards has been a pioneer in the Texas
wine making industry. After a trip to France in the early ‘70s, Ed and Susan
Auler realized that the Texas Hill Country climate and soil were perfectly
suited for growing grapes, so they experimented with some varietals on the
family ranch in Tow, Texas. Since then the Aulers have been instrumental in
developing the Hill Country as a designated wine producing region and have
honed in on growing grapes that produce award-winning wines. The staff is
very hospitable and whether you are a wine connoisseur or a novice wine
drinker, you will learn something new and enjoy your experience at Fall
Drs. Lisa and Stan Duchman founded the winery in 2004. Set in a
Tuscan-style location, Duchman Family Winery concentrates on Italian
varietals which grow very well in the Texas High Plains, from where most of
the grapes are sourced. They are proud to promote “100% Texas Grapes, 100%
Texas Wines” and continue to be innovators in the Texas wine industry by
producing wines true to the character of the Italian varietals. Besides the
exquisite wine and the charming setting, you will be intrigued with the
barrel room, the fermentation area, and the bottling production line which
can be viewed from the windowed hallway. Duchman Family Winery is a
must-visit destination in the Hill Country, which will leave you feeling
like you’ve returned from a visit to Tuscany.
With a million dollar view overlooking the vineyard from high atop the
hill, Driftwood Estate Winery has been producing Texas wines since 2002. One
of the first wineries in the popular Driftwood area, Driftwood Estate winery
recently won the award for Texas Top Wine at the 2015 Houston Livestock and
Rodeo International Wine Competition with their 2012 Longhorn Red. The
winery, with the picturesque vineyard below, beckons you to relax in a
comfortable chair, sip on a glass of their award-winning wine, and wait for
the beautiful Texas Hill Country sun setting in the wide open sky. The
peaceful surroundings, the phenomenal view, and the established wines will
call you back time and again.
Where will the tour originate and how long will
it last? If you are a guest at Serenity Farmhouse Inn, the tour bus
will meet you on the property and leave at 11:00. Other guests will be

Brookshire Brothers. The tour will last approximately 4 hours and will
return at 3:00-3:15. We ask that you are flexible. The wine concierge will

What can I expect on the tour? Our luxury
tour coach seats 12 persons, so you will join other wine lovers or new

What is wine tasting etiquette? Your tour
includes 6 tastes at each of the 3 unique wineries we visit. With the tastes
you will get the essence and flavor of the different varieties offered. If
you encounter a wine that is not to your liking, it is acceptable to pour
the remaining taste into the buckets provided. Please remain respectful, as
the wineries take great pride in their product even though each customer may
not prefer all of the wine served.
What is tapas?
You will be served a variety of tapas as a snack at one of the wineries.
Tapas originated in the Spanish cuisine as small portions of food, but has
expanded to include any type of appetizer or finger foods. Tapas is meant to
be paired with wine and enjoyed with friends.
